Happy day! Just in case you haven't heard this yet, I am happy you are here and it's a new day no matter the time you're reading this.

One of my favorite things to do with my hubby is accompany him on some of his overnights at work. To those of you who aren't familiar with the airlines and how it works, he flies to and from different cities each day. He works in "trips", meaning he is gone away from home for a few nights and then back home for a few. While he is away, he gets to "overnight" in different cities.

I really love that I have the ability to go with him sometimes to see new places and revisit some favorites. Since I do this as often as I can, I have discovered there are some items I seem to always pack, over and over. I can't wait to share the with you in hopes you'll find a new love, rediscover a way to pack something, or go digging in the back of your closet for that top you forgot how much you loved.

Overnight Essential #1 - A GOOD pair of jeans

When you are choosing the pair of jeans to pack and/or wear make sure it ticks all of the boxes. Make sure they are comfy to sit and walk in for sustained periods of time. Those flights can have you sitting for a bit and long layovers call for a stroll through the airport traveling, and exploring the town or place you are headed to once you arrive. I have found a couple of pair that I love and 1 of them finds their way onto my body for travel day or in my suitcase, without a doubt.

I really love my curvy skinny jeans from Target. If you've peaked at my Casual Saturday post, you've seen these jeans before. I also wear them a bunch in my OOTD stories on my insta. They truly are one of my favorite pair of jeans I've ever owned. They run true to size, I'm in a 4. They are mid rise, have no rips or holes, and they are super affordable (under $25)!

Another pair of jeans I have recently fell in love with has been my Madewell skinny jeans. They have a cute exposed button fly and frayed bottoms. They are a higher rise jean, which I love for a multitude of reasons. I have these in a lighter wash since my Target ones are just a bit darker.

Overnight Essential #2 - Wand

A curling wand that is! I have discovered that I go on very few adventures without my curling wand these days. I am in the market for a new one so I will link a few that have rave reviews and maybe you can help me decide which one to snag! My sis in love swears by her Lange products so that’s the one I am leaning most towards. Of course, I promise to loop you in on how I like it!

One thing I have found is that sometimes the water at the hotel is great and sometimes it isn’t. The wand do a lot for hair clean and dirty, especially my “Finnish frog fuzz” hair as my sweet momma refers to it.

Lange Wand - It's on sale right now for $69! Plus they are running free shipping and a promotion to get an extra 10% off if you sign up for their emails.

Layado on Amazon - This one is a complete kit of a multitude of different attachments. It's under $50 and ranked in their top products list.

What's your favorite hair tool?

Overnight Essential #3 - Sunglasses

I must say, before Parker I had no idea how important sunglasses are and how much I truly love them! I currently alternate between two pair of sunglasses for my adventures but 1 of them is always with me.

Costa

I love my Costa’s so much! I have the Loreto style with blue glass lenses. The glass is worth the little bit of moolah, especially if you plan to love on them. They don’t scratch and last so much longer than the plastic lenses. I already have a costa wish list going for future Costa retail therapy adventures. I also am quick to record the styles I try on and love when we are out and about so that I don’t forget.

Parker has the men's version and I have the women's!

Ray Ban

Okay, okay. I know. I love my RayBan Signets too...a lot actually. Parker was working as a flight instructor for a small airport near our hometown. One evening he came home and said, babe I have a surprise for you! I was so excited when he handed me this pair of sunglasses. They are a bit of a different style than my Costas which I love. They had been in the lost and found at the lake for over a year, Parker had been eyeing them, and one day after it had been so long and the box was about to be donated, he brought them home to me. How fun is that. I love them!

I will say this one other thing about sunglasses - I also love a good pair of trendy sunnies that cost a lot less and do enjoy snagging them when I see them. With that being said, when I travel, especially to places I’ll be outside all day, I typically bring 1 of these 2 pair because I know they are comfortable, durable, and protect my eyes! I’ll link a few cute, trendy options here too!

These SOJOS are super cute and less than $15. There are so many color options, too!

This shape is so fun for summer! These are the same SOJO brand and are also under $15.

Overnight Essential #4 - Layering Pieces

Many times when I am overnighting with Parker, I don’t pack my Away Bigger Carry on, but then again sometimes I do. When I am not traveling with my suitcase, I typically pack in a small duffle. (I’ll link some of my favorites) When I pack light like that, I am always trying to find ways to have outfit options while, at the same time, using minimal space.

Small Duffle Options:

I love a good stack of layering pieces. Some of my favorites include: a white or black T or Tank, Denim Button Up Shirt, T Shirt dress, and light cardigan sweater. I don’t typically pack all of these at once but I do choose a few so that I can create outfit options while I am away.

I love wearing a t-shirt dress with my denim shirt tied around my waist, cardigan in hand for when I get chilly. I also pair my Target denim with my light wash denim shirt and cardigan. I’ll sometimes even wear my jeans, solid tank, and denim top unbuttoned too. It’s so fun knowing you have only packed a few items but you can create options for when its just a morning to be indecisive!

This is my favorite black T Shirt dress from Target

Overnight Essential #5 - Arbonne Goodies

I’m not quite sure if you’re like me, but if you are, you thrive on routine. Traveling sometimes kicks us out of routine, but when you do it often and you’re a fan of routines, you just find a way to make the two mesh. My Arbonne goodies definitely help with that.

I bring a little kit full of what I normally would indulge in at home with me on the go in a reusable plastic baggy. I always have: Detox Tea, FIZZ, Skin Elixir, Mind Health, Blender Bottle, and Shake Mix. Recently, I discovered individual serving size packets of Stevia on Thrive that I now throw into my kit of goodies. I love stevia in my tea these days! You can check out all of these amazing Arbonne goodies in my shop! :) Of course, I’m always here to help - so I’d love to love on ya and help ya create your own Arbonne Goody Kit or Travel Kit.

I truly could go through and itemize my suitcase, but don’t want to bore you with all of my other essentials like vitamins, bobby pins, retainers, etc. Hopefully, this has inspired you to take inventory of the items you always pack and nudges you to get creative when you have to pack minimally. As always, I’m happy you’re here. Let me know what you’re loving these days. I appreciate ya!
